Biography

Growing up in the circus, Nicholas J. Johnson began performing at the age of six.

By 12, he was working as a professional magician working at major events and the festival circuit.

By 18, he was an award winning science communicator, winning the ACT Science Prize by smearing peanut butter onto scratched CDs.

 Today Nicholas has appeared on radio, film, print and television as an educator and entertainer. Given the nickname "Australia's Honest Con Man" by the Australian media for his work uncovering con artists, Nicholas has appeared on Today Tonight, A Current Affair, The 7pm Project, Today, Triple J, 3AW, ABC Radio and 2UE.

 Nicholas has performed his unique educational shows at Parliament House, Canberra, The National Science and Technology Centre, The Australian Science Festival, National Museum of Australia and, most recently, the Edinburgh Science Festival where he made a special appearance alongside 'Professor Bun-head' from TV's  Brainiac. 

  In 2007 Nicholas was award a special prize by the Australian Skeptics for his work promoting critical thinking among high school students. To date, he has performed the Bad Science Show for over 30,000 students worldwide.
